| Sheep Farm info Our animals are raised in an environment that promotes an abundance of room, plenty of sunshine, and minimal stress. What does it mean to be "All Natural" and how does that differ from Organic? We prefer to be called "All Natural". We define that as our commitment to the land and the animals to provide a healthy, clean environment. This means Sztraky Farms animals are never overcrowded, are exposed to very little stress, have plenty of fresh air, clean water and sunshine. Receive no growth hormones and feed off pastures that are free from chemicals. All our animals have access to grass in their daily diets. Our animals have their diets supplemented with Sztraky Farm custom grain rations. Our custom rations are mixed to our specifications and are formulated to maximize the health of the animal. Weaning is a stressful time for lambs we reduce due to our lambs remain on the farm from birth to market. But lambs still have to be separated from their moms, so a number of grass farmers are experimenting with ways to ease this transition. One technique is called "across the fence" weaning. In this case, the lambs are removed from their mothers but are kept separated from them by only a minimal fence. Because the ewes and lambs can still see, smell, and hear each other, weaning tends to be less stressful. Another stress-reduction technique is called "delayed weaning." In this variation, the lamb remains with its mother for a few months longer than customary. Ranchers report that the older lambs accept separation more easily.
